Revenge – Evo Style.

I will leave aside for a moment the evaluation I am making over the proposal for new constitution and elaborate a little over what has happened in Bolivia in the past week; which does have a lot to do on deciding to vote in favor or not of the constitution proposal even if it doesn’t have much to do with its text.

It turns out the key elements of the maSSist regime, mainly hard core ministers of Evo Morales, are finally being put against the wall for their despicable acts of corruption; being the main discovers of the true the free press of Bolivia, something that happens commonly when regimens don’t have full control over the so called 4th power. The acts of corruption splatters all over Evo Morales, who isn’t any Mother Teresa , even if his acolytes pretend he is. And this is making him behave as he naturally does under pressure, revengeful.

The amount of information the free press of Bolivia is being capable to obtain has open new eyes over the murderous facts that recently happened in Pando, and the data is starting to show that the attacks over the democratically elected Governor of Pando, which caused the death of local people defending their homeland as well as the decease of some zealots of the regime alongside some Venezuelan agents; horrendous acts that continued with the kidnapping and holding of the Governor of Pando as a political prisoner, had a lot to do with the Morales administration trying to masquerade their making large amounts of money trough contraband alongside the Pando border.

The opening of the maSSist box and the fact the people in Bolivia is starting to see the realities of the regime are driving Evo Morales out of is deranged mind, a fact demonstrated in his last pathetic episode where taking advantage of a press conference, his henchmen informed him that a journalist from La Prensa, a free press journal that exposed his regime, was present. Little cared Evo Morales that this poor guy never wrote any of the articles he was so upset about, all he wanted was revenge and the best way for him to obtain it was to humiliate the poor guy in, in live television, without letting him any chance to defend himself.

So Evo Morales called this hero of the free press by his name, Raphale Ramirez, and other female journalist. When Morales noticed non of the journalist wanted to pass forward, he lied, saying that not passing in front meant they recognize are culprits of writing lies trough the newspaper they work since he “only” wanted to give the journalist some letters to take to his bosses in the office.

Raphael Ramirez passed forward, received the letters and thanked the tyrant, who was already savoring the bitterness of coca chewing over the revenge he was going to have. He ordered Raphael to stay to the side and started reading from the documents explaining according to him, why they were a lie, as is the poor guy was the one who wrote them; than at the end, he send him back with the order for Raphael to prove the writings the newspaper he labors for are true. Nerveless to say that the cheering we all heard on TV come by the paid goons that attend all the public appearances of the autocrat of Bolivia and not from the other journalist that were shaken their heads thinking on what the future while depart to the free press of the country if Evo Morales is given more time to destroy democracy.

An that is why this incident is relevant to the new proposal of constitution vote next January 2009; since if it passes it will give Evo Morales the opportunity to continue in power, for many more years that under the current constitution. An Evo has proven that constitutions and humans rights are only good if it serves his despicable purposes; there is nothing that can show Bolivians that he is going to respect a new constitution and new laws, but we have a lot of evidence that he has make himself through the violation of the human rights of those that do not believe he is the sun of the sun, like probably now Raphael Ramirez, and through the open breakage of current the law and the constitution.

Those, these is, in my books, another point to vote against the new proposal of constitution in Bolivia.

Bolivian Break Point

The constituent assembly should have become that point of change, of discontinuity that would have catapulted the country towards a better, more united future, an it would have being successful if not used by the maSSist regimen as a means of violent neo Trotskyite revolutionary mace instead of a pacific democratic tool to change the few things missing from a previous Bolivian “Magna Carta”.

From the beginning of this process, when the infamous 2/3 vote issue aroused within the conclave, many have warned that between the most realistic and the worst-case scenarios, there will be an upper limit of capacity from which the Country will start to evolve in the direction of total anarchy. Many warnings were given to the MaSSist regime, unprecedented civil violence had occurred in Cochabamba last January 2007 and then again in Sucre this November 2007; where indigenous fascist masses driven by the president of the country provoked civilian skirmish which produced death citizens of Bolivia. Even most unprecedented was the use of civilian zealots by a democratic elected government, the one of Evo Morales, to prevent legislators that represent the opposition participating on behalf of those that does not alienate with the maSSi doctrine last November 28, 2007. Situation that later on was used in Oruro to approve the regime’s draft constitution.

Yesterday’s abortion of maSSist constitution protected in similar manner by this indigenous fascists was the definite break point for the country and its indisputable necessity to turn towards civil disobedience, which at the end it only means violence and anarchy, to save the little possibility of recuperating democracy in the Country ones again. The use of violent civilian masses to subjugate the will of the free citizens was a practice of “great” but obscure leaders like Mussolini and Hitler; Evo Morales will soon be part of such “selected” list when studying humankind history.

Would it still exist some little possibility for Bolivians to avoid a full scale confrontation; a civil war where no one can win? Since no side has overwhelming human power over the other to balance the confrontation to its favor. There is an overwhelming territorial power clearly distinguished everywhere but Cochabamba and there is also the political and human power of convocation of 2/3 of the prefects of the country. Their actions in the near future are the ones that will set precedent to define if the maSSist break point ends up in as the point of no return for Bolivia. Since the regime has clearly established that the use of the force and civilian confrontation is going to be its way of living until the end of it times.

Bolivia - Guilty until Proven Innocent

No, I am not confusing the term because English isn’t my first language and I am not being sarcastic either. The true is that in Bolivia, even before the present regime, and against the law and our constitution, in many situations as Bolivians have to prove to be innocent to a criminal charge. Many of my compatriots lost their jobs, positions and even worst, their liberty, actually spending time in jail, because this abuse of power. I could say, perhaps; because of the incompetence and luck of resources of our Bolivian Police force.

But confusing is in deed, that Bolivian dictator to be Evo Morales, a direct affected and abused by draconian and unconstitutional Law 1008 in his early days as a Cocalero Union Leader in El Chapare; ordered the taking of the International Airport of Viru Viru in Santa Cruz, by the military, to get rid of the airport’s manager recently accused of corruption and taking payments under the table. This assault was performed by military commandos, not the police, like if the personnel in the airport offices were some type of armed terrorist taking the airport installations by force. This people’s human’s rights were violently violated and many lost their job immediately without due process; for the moment.

Anybody that believes in peace, democracy and the respect for human rights will ask, couldn’t the police have obtained enough information to open a case and get a warrant for the arrest of the probable corrupted administrative, in order to process them according to the law? And the answer would be, off course they could have. Then, why this did not happened? Why the abuse of power? Why using the military in a democracy the month we are remembering the violence and fallen this same month in 2003? Why the several pacific protesters injured? They just didn’t want the military to police civilian society, is that to much to ask in a democratic country? Why the foreign, Venezuelan for sure and who knows what more, military personnel present during a Bolivian military maneuver that should never happened?

Perhaps the fact that the accused airport administrative official was the one that opened the Pandora box about the PDVSA officials landing in Bolivia and staying for several hours before taking off and being detained in Argentina with hundreds of thousand petrodollars in a briefcase; something first denied by Morales regime and still under investigation, in Argentina; is the main reason for this violent action taking place.

No matter what, it was to much for the civilian population of Santa Cruz that is growing tired of being verbally, economically and now militarily abused by the mazist regime; and the response was just like the people in Cochabamba when their right to congregate and to have freedom of speech was denied by Evo’s totalitarian regime, tens of thousands took the streets and then the airport. It appears that a cold chill crossed Evo’s and his assessors spines, since they quickly, and wisely for at least one time, moved the troops to where they should be, their quarters.

The Viru Viru fiasco is one more victory for democracy in Bolivia and another blow for the Tyrant apprentice, a lot of dirt is going to come out of this, by I seriously doubt is going to be enough to bury the current government’s despotic intentions. Never the less, Bolivia was not build in one day and those that love democracy know how to wait, unseated.
